Description
Inpatient Home Health PTA – Travel contract in Walla Walla, WA (99362). Active WA PTA license required; must be willing to obtain OR license. 13-week assignment, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.
Job Details
- Location: Walla Walla, WA and surrounding counties (lower Columbia County to Umatilla County; travel up to 60 miles)
- Setting: Inpatient / Home Health (home-based therapy, skilled nursing referrals)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 21, 2026)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour days, 40 hours/week)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract; regional travel within assigned territory
- Team Structure: Assigned to a geographic team with manager and interdisciplinary rehab support
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,470–$1,580/week
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Washington (WA); willing to obtain Oregon (OR) PTA license while working
- Minimum 1 year of Home Health PTA experience within the past 3 years (home-based physical therapy, patient mobility training)
- Familiarity with HCHB (Homecare Homebase) EMR preferred; strong documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for patient visits across the service area
- Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality PTA services in patients' homes throughout Walla Walla County and neighboring areas (home health physical therapy, mobility and balance training)
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT, OT, nursing, case management) to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assess patient mobility, provide therapeutic exercises, fall prevention strategies, and durable medical equipment recommendations
- Document patient progress, interventions, and skilled notes using HCHB or agency EMR per regulatory and payer requirements
- Educate patients and caregivers on safe transfers, home exercise programs, and community resources to support rehabilitation goals
- Participate in team meetings and maintain clear communication with managers and clinical staff
