Job Requirements

• Active and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) certification or license. Must hold New Jersey licensure or be eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
• At least 1 year of experience as a PTA in an inpatient, hospital, or inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Strong communication, patient education, and clinical documentation skills; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to inpatient populations, including restorative and skilled therapy interventions.
• Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, supporting functional mobility, strength, balance, and ADL training.
• Monitor patient progress, document outcomes and treatment notes accurately in the patient chart/EMR to support continuity of care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, home programs, safety strategies, and progression of care.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment while adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and rehabilitation best practices.
