Travel Sonographer Job Details

- Shift: 8 Hour Days (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1920-$2060/week
Sonographer Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience as a Sonographer, with prior Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience required
- Current Sonographer certification required (examples: RDMS/ARDMS or equivalent state credential)
- Proven experience performing comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds: first trimester scans, nuchal translucency (NT), detailed anatomy surveys, growth scans, biophysical profiles, multiple gestations, cervical length assessment, placental evaluation, and Doppler studies
- Ability to evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions and identify abnormal findings; strong fetal imaging interpretation skills
- Familiarity with EMR/PACS systems and adherence to accreditation standards (AIUM/ACR)
- Excellent communication, patient care, and emotional sensitivity skills while maintaining patient privacy and dignity
Key Responsibilities – High-Risk OB Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist
- Perform comprehensive obstetric and fetal imaging, including first trimester NT/early anatomy, detailed second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys, growth and biophysical profiles, and targeted Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus)
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and complete precise biometric measurements to support clinical decision-making in MFM
- Evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions, identify abnormal findings, and promptly communicate results to MFM physicians and care team members
- Support fetal therapy and invasive procedures (e.g., amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS) performed by physicians by providing imaging assistance and documentation
- Document and enter exam data accurately into EMR/PACS systems and ensure studies meet AIUM/ACR accreditation standards
- Collaborate closely with MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff in a multidisciplinary care environment
- Participate in care coordination and maintain efficient workflow in a busy high-risk OB ultrasound unit with advanced ultrasound technology
- Provide compassionate patient education and clear explanations to patients and families facing high-risk pregnancies
