- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,250 per week
- Setting: Neuro Special Care Unit (10-bed Progressive Care Unit / PCU)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract — Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- End Date: July 11, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- On-Call: Yes
Top Qualifications (Progressive Care Unit RN / Neuro RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States (state license as required)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in Progressive Care, Neuro, step-down, or similar critical care setting
- Clinical experience with arterial lines, ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains
- Proficiency in hemodynamic and invasive blood pressure monitoring
- Experience caring for patients on BiPAP/CPAP, trach CPAP ventilator support, and low-dose vasopressors
- Knowledge of vasoactive medications, inotropes, Mannitol, and hypertonic saline (3%)
- Ability to manage complex wounds, lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical neuro patients
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
Responsibilities (Neuro Special Care / Critical Care Nurse)
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, and post-surgical neuro needs
- Monitor and manage patients with arterial lines, ventriculostomies, subdural and lumbar drains, and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate vasoactive medications and inotropes according to protocols and physician orders
- Care for tracheostomy patients and those requiring ventilator support; assist with ventilator management and weaning as appropriate
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring, neurological assessments, and timely documentation of patient status and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to unit needs with clinical judgment and professionalism
