• Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 (Wheeling, West Virginia travel nursing job)
• Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg (6N Overflow Unit) — Medical-Surgical RN / Travel Nurse
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: March 10, 2026
• End Date: June 9, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, weekends as scheduled (night shift / day shift experience preferred)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: Up to 1:7 (medical-surgical patient ratio)
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC EMR experience helpful)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (medical-surgical RN experience)
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Ability to titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results (heparin drip titration experience)
• Willingness to float as needed based on census (flexible travel nurse)
• Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license at submission
• Comfortable with patient ratios up to 1:7

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, document in EPIC, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments, including titration of heparin drips and other acute care interventions
• Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and other staff to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care
• Participate in rotating shifts, including weekends as scheduled; adapt to day/night rotations typical for travel nurse roles
• Float to other units as needed based on facility census to support staffing and continuity of care
