NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-week travel assignment in Lawrenceville, GA. Provide high-acuity neonatal intensive care in a Level III/IV NICU near Atlanta.
Assignment Overview
- Location: Lawrenceville, GA 30046 (Gwinnett County) — convenient access to Atlanta's hospitals, culture, and amenities
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Assignment
- Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — Level III/IV neonatal care
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 4, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing opportunity)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Candidate Note: Open to travel nurses; no local candidates within 50 miles
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1500-$1580 per week (based on 36 guaranteed hours)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific licensure required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Demonstrated clinical skills in neonatal intensive care, ventilator management, and high-acuity patient management
- Experience with advanced neonatal therapies (e.g., HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia) preferred
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as scheduled
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates, including infants as early as 22 weeks gestation
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and manage complex airway and ventilator settings, including High Frequency Oscillator Ventilation (HFOV)
- Administer and monitor advanced therapies such as therapeutic cooling, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), and continuous IV drips
- Insert, monitor, and maintain central lines and other vascular access devices; manage infusion therapy safely
- Continuously assess and document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize neonatal outcomes
- Provide family-centered education, emotional support, and clear communication to parents and caregivers throughout the NICU stay
