- End Date: July 6, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts (8:00 am – 6:30 pm)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend/On-Call: On-call one Saturday per month (8:00 am – 1:00 pm)
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions, 24 hours
- Attire: Scrubs – Royal Blue or Galaxy Blue
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology RN experience (inpatient and/or outpatient infusion)
- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record (EPIC charting)
- Supervisory reference from the last year
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
- Responsive and able to meet compliance and credentialing deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Safely administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy (IV, IM, SQ, intravesical) and monitor patients for infusion reactions
- Manage vascular access: ports, PICC lines, peripheral IV starts and maintenance
- Set up and monitor infusion pumps; administer blood products, antifungals, antivirals, and coagulation factors
- Perform IV push chemotherapy per protocol and handle post-chemotherapy body fluid precautions
- Assess and communicate abnormal lab values and collaborate on treatment plans
- Provide patient and family education, symptom management, and psychosocial support throughout treatment
- Float within the facility as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response)
