Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois required (IMLC not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of neuro or acute care RN experience (stroke, neurology, or neurointerventional exposure preferred)
- Clean background and ability to pass required screenings
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (hospitalists, neurosurgery, APPs, regional referral centers)
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide neuro and neurology support for a comprehensive stroke program, including neurointerventional coverage
- Manage inpatient neurology care: consults, admissions, ER cases (approximate census: 15 patients)
- Serve as primary contact for transfer calls related to neurology and neurointerventional cases and coordinate safe transfers
- Collaborate closely with hospitalists, neurosurgery teams, regional referral facilities, and APPs on shared services
- Maintain high standards of patient care, accurate documentation, and timely communication with care teams
