- Setting: Acute Inpatient Dialysis Unit — 4 bays, average 8–13 patients/day
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 4, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 10-hour days (0700 start)
- Hours per Week: 40 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Rotation: Potentially every other weekend
- On-Call: Yes, shared call based on census and emergent needs
- Scrub Color: Any solid color, professional
- Parking: Free in designated areas; paid options available
- EMR: Epic (experience with Epic preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120–$2,230/week
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient dialysis RN experience preferred (majority inpatient experience required; mixed inpatient/outpatient considered)
- First-time travel nurses should have 5+ years of dialysis experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of Washington or compact RN)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proven experience independently operating hemodialysis equipment and delivering hemodialysis treatments
- Proficiency with AV fistula and graft cannulation, dialysis catheters, anticoagulation management, fluid removal, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Ability to troubleshoot dialysis alarms and machine issues (experience with TABLO dialysis machines preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills for care of AKI, ESRD, and critically ill post-op patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based hemodialysis treatments for patients with AKI, ESRD, fluid overload, electrolyte imbalance, sepsis, and post-op/critically ill ICU patients
- Independently operate hemodialysis equipment and monitor patient care throughout treatment
- Access and manage AV fistulas, grafts, and dialysis catheters; ensure proper infection control and vascular access care
- Monitor patient hemodynamics, manage ultrafiltration and fluid removal, and respond to hemodynamic instability
- Troubleshoot dialysis alarms and equipment issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted patient care
- Float to inpatient units as a "Helping-Hands" resource when dialysis volume is low
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation as needed
