Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Minimum 1 year recent hospital experience as an RRT
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to work night shifts and perform in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport with minimal supervision — ventilator management and mechanical ventilation support
• Assess and evaluate patients, recommend and implement respiratory treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on treatments, tests, equipment, and discharge instructions
• Administer physician-prescribed therapies using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, and review chest x-rays for respiratory assessment
• Conduct pulmonary function studies, 12-lead EKGs, and basic arrhythmia recognition
• Assist with procedures including bronchoscopy support, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and arterial punctures
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and manage endotracheal tubes and airway interventions
• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot ventilatory equipment; ensure preventative maintenance and timely repairs
• Document treatments, patient responses, and clinical notes accurately in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, seamless shift handoffs
• Other duties as assigned to support department operations and patient care
