• Location: Pikeville, KY 41501 — Kentucky travel nursing opportunity
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (cardiac telemetry / intermediate care)
• Assignment Type: Travel assignment — Travel Nurse / Cardiac RN
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Start Date: April 6, 2026
• End Date: May 30, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 48 hours (4x12-hour shifts)
• Number of Positions: 2 Cardiac Stepdown RNs

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown, cardiac telemetry, or related acute care experience required; 5 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Excellent clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills in English (read, write, speak)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for young adult, adult, and elderly patients on the cardiac stepdown unit as a Cardiac RN
• Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments using the nursing process to optimize patient outcomes
• Demonstrate competency in cardiac monitoring and telemetry, care of pre/post CABG and interventional cardiac procedure patients, and management of specialized drips and medications
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation of patient histories, conditions, treatments, and responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and involve patients and families in education and care planning
• Supervise and mentor other healthcare staff; serve as a team leader and clinical role model
• Assist physicians with procedures and respond promptly to changes in patient status and workload
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of patient care equipment and supplies
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and personnel guidelines
