- Contract Type: Travel Nurse
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- End Date: August 10, 2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Self-scheduling: Requests accepted prior to final schedule posting
- Orientation: 1 week dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing experience (at least 1 year current in specialty) — hematology/oncology or med-surg oncology preferred
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state licensure) — Ohio nursing jobs and travel RN candidates welcome
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (chemotherapy certified)
- Experience with computerized charting (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients, including those with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic conditions
- Administer chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC chemotherapy protocols), blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin, and heparin drips
- Respond to oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and activate rapid response teams as needed
- Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Prioritize infection prevention protocols, medication safety, and fall prevention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC and adhere to unit policies and oncology nursing standards
- Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage based on unit staffing needs
