• Location: Flowood, MS (Zip: 39232) — Mississippi nursing jobs / travel nursing jobs in Mississippi
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), alternating weekends
• Shift Schedule: 4 shifts one week, 3 shifts the next (3/2 split)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg RN) – acute care hospital setting
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Pay Rate: $70/hour
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570 - $1,650/week

Med/Surg RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred (electronic medical records proficiency)
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse requirement)
• Ability to manage a 6:1 patient ratio; strong clinical judgment and time-management skills

Key Responsibilities – Medical-Surgical Nursing

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients, following hospital policies and standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and promptly report to the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensure accurate medication administration
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Document patient information accurately and timely in Cerner EMR or other charting systems
• Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment and adhere to infection control practices
