RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must meet state requirements)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)
- Ability to work night shifts and no holiday time off requests
RN Responsibilities — LTAC / Travel Nurse
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and goals
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs with a focus on education, functional recovery, and quality outcomes
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching starting at admission
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and patient safety
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Promote and maintain personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and LTAC protocols
- Contribute positively to team building and a collaborative, supportive work environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC nursing and travel nurse roles
