Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,640–$1,730/week
- Location: Charleston, SC (Zip: 29425) — Charleston healthcare jobs / South Carolina nursing jobs
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse / Surgical RN — Travel Nurse role
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts per week (08:30 – 21:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-call: Up to 2 call shifts per month (7a-7p or 7p-7a, Saturday or Sunday)
- Weekend Requirement: Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Charting: EPIC (experience with EPIC charting preferred)
- Parking: $20 registration fee for garage parking permit
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience required; 2 years preferred (perioperative / scrub experience strongly preferred)
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (pending license considered with proof of application)
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- Experience in Level I Trauma preferred
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs (float to like units/sister facilities)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities
- Circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical procedures in a busy main OR with 21 suites
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary perioperative team including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists
- Provide high-quality patient care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the operating room
- Participate in on-call rotations and weekend/holiday coverage as scheduled
- Float between like units or sister facilities as needed to support surgical services
- Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC charting system
- Adhere to emergency response protocols during hurricane season (June–November)
