Travel OR Registered Nurse (OR RN) – 13-week contract in Charleston, SC at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet hospital. Seeking a perioperative/surgical nurse with OR experience to support high-acuity cases and provide excellent patient care.
Job Details
- Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (Charleston, South Carolina travel nursing)
- Position Type: Travel Nurse – Operating Room / Perioperative Nurse / Surgical RN
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-call: Up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: Required to work at least one holiday period
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Charting: EPIC (EPIC experience preferred)
- Parking: Convenient garage parking available for a small registration fee
- Compensation: Estimated weekly salary range: $1,640–$1,730. Competitive travel nurse pay and benefits (details provided during recruitment)
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Operating Room RN experience (2 years strongly preferred); perioperative/surgical RN experience highly valued
- Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (must be active prior to start)
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge (provided by agency)
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs (float between OR subspecialties or like units)
- Experience in Level I trauma setting preferred (trauma OR experience)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities
- Circulate and scrub for a broad range of surgical procedures across trauma, transplant, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, robotics, and pediatrics
- Provide perioperative nursing care, maintain sterile technique, and support surgical teams as a surgical RN/OR RN
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists
- Maintain patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Participate in on-call rotations and weekend/holiday coverage as required
- Float between like units or sister facilities as needed to meet staffing needs
- Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and handoffs
- Adhere to facility policies, including emergency response protocols during hurricane season
