- Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM); rotating weekends; up to 2 on-call shifts/month
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1240–$1330/week
- Hourly Pay Rate: $31.00–$33.25/hour
- Unit: Main Operating Room — 21 OR suites (Operating Room jobs, OR tech)
- Charting / EMR: EPIC
- Scrubs / Uniform: Scrub color provided
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required — MUSC does NOT accept NCCT
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- Radiation badge required (must be provided by your agency)
- Minimum: 2 years recent surgical tech / operating room experience preferred (first-time travel surgical techs considered)
- Clinical experience highly preferred in: Neuro (spine/crani), ENT (flaps), Robotics (DaVinci Xi), Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, GU/GYN
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and cross-cover like units or sister facilities
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must complete orientation and required modules prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative support as a Surgical Technologist in a busy, nurse-driven operating room
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field; anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures
- Assist across a wide variety of surgical specialties including Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Robotics (DaVinci Xi), Trauma, Transplant, GU/GYN
- Support Level I Trauma protocols, emergency response, and trauma activations—especially during hurricane season (June–November)
- Participate in rotating weekend, holiday coverage, and scheduled on-call shifts
- Float between like units or sister facilities as requested to meet staffing needs
- Follow EPIC charting requirements and complete documentation timely and accurately
