  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30) — night shift respiratory therapist

  • Unit: Respiratory Therapist — hospital, critical care/ICU experience preferred
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1450 – $1560 — competitive pay for travel respiratory therapists

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting
  • Active DC Respiratory Therapist license required — DC licensing for respiratory therapy jobs
  • BLS certification required
  • First-time travelers welcome — travel respiratory therapist programs encouraged to apply
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • References from two supervisors required

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care services including ventilator management, mechanical ventilation, high flow therapy, BiPAP, aerosol treatments, and chest physical therapy
  • Perform adult critical care procedures: extubation, airway placement, sputum specimen collection, bronchoscopy assistance, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer respiratory medications and therapies including bronchodilators and inhaled steroids (Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, etc.)
  • Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ventilators (Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, Viasys Vela, Maquet U)
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and support weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, pulmonary team) to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
