Job Details

• Location: Columbia, SC 29203 (Columbia, South Carolina)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,770–$1,870 per week
• Role: Travel Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry Nurse (Progressive Care/IMC/IICU)
• Setting: Surgical Stepdown / Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IMC/IICU)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Patient Ratio: 1:3 (cardiac/telemetry patients)
• Orientation: Up to 16 hours (billable)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or multistate compact license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in ICU, IICU, progressive care (PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown) — critical care experience required
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required; first-time travelers must have 3 years of specialty experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS certification preferred/required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC charting experience (EPIC EMR proficiency)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Strong telemetry interpretation, cardiac dysrhythmia management, and vasoactive drip titration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac, trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology patients requiring frequent monitoring and interventions
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and interpret/manage cardiac dysrhythmias as a telemetry nurse
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and manage ventilated patients when required
• Administer medications, manage surgical drains, and perform complex assessments and interventions in the Stepdown/IMC setting
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV therapy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Float to other qualified units or hospital campuses as needed (flexible travel RN responsibilities)
• Safely operate special equipment such as Hercules patient repositioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
• Accurately document care and clinical decisions in EPIC EMR following hospital policies and nursing standards
