Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift in Pikeville, KY 41501. Join our critical care travel nursing team for a 10-week assignment caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a modern acute care ICU in the scenic Appalachian region.

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (state license or compact RN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience; travel nursing experience required
• ACLS certification (required within 90 days of hire)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required within 90 days of hire)
• EKG/telemetry proficiency
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
• TNCC certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing as an ICU nurse for young adult, adult, and elderly patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor hemodynamics, and manage ventilators and advanced airway care
• Administer medications, IV therapy, transfusions, enteral nutrition, and titrate specialized IV drips/vasopressors per policy
• Manage post-operative vascular surgery recovery and complex medical-surgical ICU conditions (neurological, pulmonary, renal, cardiac)
• Care for patients with neurovascular, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and respiratory needs including stroke monitoring
• Use advanced monitoring equipment, perform EKG interpretation, and care for patients with arterial/central lines
• Respond to Code Blue and emergency situations in inpatient areas and participate in rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation and uphold patient confidentiality
• Supervise, mentor, and precept other healthcare staff; participate in performance improvement and professional development
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines; assist with patient transport and unit support tasks as needed
