• Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Telemetry RN (Travel)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Schedule: Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule (84 hours biweekly with 72 hour guarantee)
• Employment Type: Travel, On-site clinical nursing
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics (progressive care, med-surg, telemetry)
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required as needed (may include most weekends during contract)

Qualifications / Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, telemetry, or progressive care RN experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (license in-hand required before start)
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred (travel nurse, travel RN experience)
• Epic electronic charting experience strongly preferred (Epic experience)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (submit documentation prior to start)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability and willingness to float between Med-Surg and PCU units
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Comfort managing patient ratios of approximately 5–6 patients per nurse (days/nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit and Med-Surg settings
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedure care (Telemetry RN)
• Administer medications and blood products; manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines
• Care for patients with complex medical diagnoses including renal failure, CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, and withdrawal management
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and manage surgical drains and chest tubes
• Participate in rapid response and code teams to ensure patient safety
• Document accurately using Epic charting and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
