Healthcare Job Details

• Position Type: Travel RN (Telemetry) / Night Shift Telemetry RN
• Location: On-site in Petersburg, VA (23805) — Richmond metro area
• Unit: M/S Tele Unit 4W
• Shift: 12-hour nights; every other weekend and major holidays required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 3/23/2026 – End: 6/20/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Scrub Color: Navy blue, white, or any combination
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, LifPak defibrillators/monitors, Hoyer lifts, glucometers, Dynamaps, Kangaroo pumps

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (required)
• At least 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
• 1 year of travel RN experience required (travel nursing jobs experience)
• Telemetry nursing experience required (cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Dysrhythmia exam (study guide available)
• EPIC EHR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (travel RN eligibility requirement)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze telemetry data, and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital protocols
• Coordinate patient care and serve as primary point of contact across interdisciplinary teams
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
• Manage patients with multi-system organ failure, post-cath, post-stroke, Afib, CHF exacerbation, and other acute conditions
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed to support staffing and patient care
• Monitor and manage non-titratable drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Heparin)
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring, manage chest tubes, and assist with conscious sedation
• Provide patient and family education, document care in EPIC (if available), and support patient-centered decision making
• Maintain professionalism, practice self-care, and uphold infection control and safety standards

Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 per week
