- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2030 per week

- Unit: 4E Orthopedics (38-bed unit)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel contract / travel nurse)
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 6, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 – 06:45)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel nurse opportunity)
- Scrub Color: Any solid color

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (orthopedic nursing experience preferred)
- Active Illinois RN license required at time of application (Illinois nursing license)
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only)
- ACLS certification preferred
- Telemetry experience preferred (telemetry monitoring skills)
- PICC line management and IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required
- Cerner charting / Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg departments as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric orthopedic patients, including post-op care for total joint replacements, spine surgeries, trauma interventions, osteomyelitis, and infection management
- Provide orthopedic-specific interventions: traction, bedside debridement, complex dressing changes, and wound care
- Manage and monitor IVs, PICC lines, and administer long-term IV antibiotics (IV therapy, infusion pump use)
- Use orthopedic and mobility equipment such as slings, walkers, canes, traction devices, casts, and PAS boot machines
- Operate and monitor devices including IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe pumps, and vital sign monitors
- Chart patient care and progress using Cerner EMR (accurate clinical documentation)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—surgeons, physical therapy, case management—to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed to meet facility and patient care needs
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols
