• Setting: Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical Unit
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating every other holiday
• Orientation: 2 clinical shifts with preceptor + 1 EPIC/professional orientation shift
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130–$2250/week

Med/Surg RN Job Requirements (Travel Nursing)

• Active RN license in Illinois (or documentation that Illinois application has been submitted)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong post-op care skills, critical thinking, and effective teamwork
• Ability to pass a negative drug screen for all panels (Drug-Free Campus)

Responsibilities – Med/Surg Registered Nurse

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients on a Surgical Acute unit
• Provide wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, and management of drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN
• Use EPIC for accurate charting, documentation, and medication administration
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses, house supervisors, surgeons, and patient care technicians
• Float to units of similar acuity as needed and adapt to changing patient populations
• Maintain excellent bedside manner and communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Participate in unit orientation, ongoing professional development, and competency validation
