Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience required (2 years highly desired)
• Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute care settings preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning at admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to facility policies and evidence-based practices
• Participate in team building and contribute positively to unit operations
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education — continuing education for RNs encouraged
