Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC Night Shift in Homewood, AL. 13-week travel assignment; 12-hour nights; ASAP start. Join our LTAC nursing team serving the Homewood/Birmingham area.
Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,770–$1,870/week
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse)
- Location: On-site in Homewood, Alabama (35209) — near Birmingham
- Unit: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) – Night Shift
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 48 hours
- Duration: 13 weeks

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience post-graduation
- Experience in Stepdown, ICU, or LTAC settings (critical care or complex care experience preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans for LTAC patients
- Provide skilled critical/complex care typical of LTAC and stepdown populations during night shifts
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and orientees; delegate appropriately
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in patient rehabilitation efforts with a focus on education, discharge planning, and quality outcomes
- Communicate changes in patient status to interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork to maintain a positive, efficient unit environment
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and evidence-based practice
- Perform other duties as assigned to support unit operations
