Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience required (acute care, LTAC, or sub-acute experience preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state license accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- Experience in LTAC, sub-acute, or similar critical care recovery settings preferred
- Strong patient assessment, documentation, and care planning skills
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as needed
- Initiate discharge planning and patient/family education starting at admission
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Promote patient and staff safety, following hospital guidelines and safety policies
- Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety
- Participate in team conferences, rehabilitation programs, and plan of care meetings
- Contribute to a positive, efficient work environment through teamwork and calm leadership
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC and critical care nursing
