• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit (L&D, obstetrics, maternal-newborn)
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (week nights & occasional weekend nights)

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,020 - $2,130 per week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D nurse, obstetrics experience)
• Graduate of an accredited RN program (BSN preferred) — Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current Iowa RN license in good standing (state licensure required for travel nursing)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to certify within 3 months)
• Current ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications (or ability to obtain per facility guidelines)
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Strong empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward patients and families
• Basic computer knowledge and experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Technical and critical thinking skills to apply sound nursing judgment in high-acuity situations
• Preferred: Experience with fetal monitoring (EFM), triage, postpartum care, and newborn stabilization

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based Labor & Delivery nursing care to obstetric and maternal-newborn patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain continuity of care through clear communication with team members, patients, and families
• Direct and coordinate support staff in the delivery of patient-centered care
• Perform general nursing duties using critical thinking with minimal supervision, including maternal assessments and newborn care as needed
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, respect, and compassionate patient advocacy in all interactions
