Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting (inpatient OT)
• Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Arizona (Arizona occupational therapy license)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Ability to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students
• Strong commitment to patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling

Responsibilities – Hospital Occupational Therapist

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, and supervise OT treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards
• Assess patients' level of functioning and implement appropriate inpatient treatment plans
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures
• Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control practices
• Supervise and mentor OT assistants, students, and new staff
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Demonstrate a customer service mindset and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling and collaborate with team members for optimal patient care
