• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Circulator / Operating Room Nurse
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, Monday–Friday, 06:30–15:00 (8-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On-Call: Call every 5th or 6th weekend and one day during the week
• Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 5 operating rooms with a daily census of ~12
• Role Type: Travel Nurse / Travel OR RN (Circulator)

Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250–$2370/week

Job Requirements – Operating Room Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent OR RN experience required (no exceptions)
• Proficiency in Orthopedics (total joints), General Surgery, and OB procedures
• Active Kansas RN license or compact license (Kansas nursing license)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with electronic charting systems (any system accepted)
• Willingness and ability to participate in on-call rotation
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• First-time travelers not accepted — experienced travel nurse preferred

Responsibilities – OR Circulator Duties

• Circulate in the operating room for a wide range of surgical procedures: Orthopedics, GYN, Podiatry, General Surgery, Endoscopy, and OB (C-sections)
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to universal protocols, including Time Out procedures
• Handle specimen collection and labeling, infection control, and wound management
• Operate and assist with special equipment such as Hana Table and cell saver
• Administer blood and blood products per policy
• Maintain laser and radiation safety standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Participate in rapid response teams and float to other units as needed
