L&D Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Birmingham, AL (35243) — Birmingham healthcare job / Alabama nursing job
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site (Labor & Delivery / Perinatal nursing)
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570–$1,650 per week
Travel Nurse Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
- Experience with Cerner EMR (electronic medical record)
- Must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility)
Responsibilities
- Provide expert labor and delivery nursing care to mothers and newborns in the L&D unit
- Perform maternal-fetal monitoring and assess fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
- Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries and provide postpartum nursing care
- Collaborate with OB/GYN, anesthesiology, neonatology, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient care in Cerner EMR
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and family-centered environment for patients and families
