Travel Hospital Pharmacist – Night Shift | Panama City, FL. Travel pharmacist opportunity in a 282-bed acute care hospital — 10-hour night shifts, 26-week contract. Join a collaborative hospital pharmacy team supporting Level III NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics on Florida's Gulf Coast. Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy)
  • Current, active pharmacist licensure in Florida (Florida pharmacist license required)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital pharmacy experience required
  • Advanced competency with pediatric oral and IV solutions, pharmaceutical calculations, and pediatric dosing
  • Experience with pharmacokinetic (PK) dosing for Aminoglycoside and Vancomycin, TPN calculations, and Pyxis troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with sterile compounding and USP 797 & 800 standards
  • BLS and ACLS certifications helpful but not required
  • NICU/PICU/Pediatrics experience is a plus — pediatric pharmacist and neonatal pharmacy keywords emphasized
  • Strong adaptability, teamwork, customer focus, and high professional standards

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, cost-effective medication therapy as an acute care hospital pharmacist and patient advocate
  • Verify and adjudicate CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and dosing
  • Interpret medication orders, maintain computerized patient profiles, and clarify orders as needed
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile preparations, limited chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition (TPN) following USP 797 & 800
  • Provide pharmacokinetic dosing services, antimicrobial stewardship support, and pharmacy-directed dosing protocols (IV-to-PO conversions, anticoagulation, pain management)
  • Issue and document controlled substances in compliance with federal and state law
  • Detect, report, and help resolve adverse drug reactions and medication errors; communicate clinical outcomes to pharmacy leadership
  • Serve on multidisciplinary rounding teams as a clinical pharmacy resource and patient safety advocate
  • Supervise and coach pharmacy support staff, verify daily activities, and contribute to performance appraisals
