Job Details
- Location: Brownwood, TX (76801) — Travel SLP assignment
- Setting: Outpatient speech therapy clinic / outpatient SLP
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Day shifts, 8 hours (09:00 – 17:00), Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 6–8 patients (typical outpatient speech therapy caseload)
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130–$2,280 per week (based on experience and qualifications)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Texas or eligibility for licensure (pending license OK)
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an SLP with lifespan experience (pediatrics through geriatrics)
- Experience conducting and interpreting modified barium swallow (MBS) studies
- Previous charge experience required
- Experience with electronic charting systems; Altera experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability to complete facility drug screen upon arrival (including marijuana)
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
- Conduct and interpret modified barium swallow (MBS) studies and FEES
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals
- Provide dysphagia therapy, including use of VitalStim and Frazier Free Water Protocol where appropriate
- Implement and monitor use of communication and airway devices, including Passy Muir valves
- Educate patients, caregivers, and families on communication strategies and swallowing safety
- Document assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in the charting system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, OT, nursing, physicians) for optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in discharge planning, reassessments, and quality improvement initiatives
