Job Details

• Location: Florence, SC 29505 (Florence healthcare / Florence, SC travel nurse)
• Position: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative RN
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:00)
• On-Call: Call every 3rd–4th weekend and 2 star call until 11:00 PM weekly
• Hours per Week: 40
• Facility: Level 3 Trauma Center, 12 ORs — broad surgical specialties (general, neuro, ortho, ENT, GYN)
• Employment Type: Travel nurse
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1920 per week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of acute care operating room experience across multiple surgical specialties (general, neuro, ortho, ENT, GYN)
• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license; pending SC license considered with proof of application
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Radiation badge required (to be provided by agency)
• First-time travel nurses accepted if demonstrating broad perioperative competency
• Influenza vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions permitted)
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of Florence, SC
• Previous permanent staff must have at least a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative patients in a fast-paced OR setting
• Demonstrate clinical proficiency across a broad range of surgical specialties (general, neuro, ortho, ENT, GYN)
• Participate in the on-call rotation (call every 3rd–4th weekend; 2 star call until 11:00 PM weekly)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, PACU, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Document accurately using Epic EMR and follow facility charting protocols
• Adhere to facility policies and emergency procedures, including hurricane season protocols (June–November)
• Complete all facility-required modules and onboarding prior to start date
