- End Date: October 5, 2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30), 3 shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Self-scheduling: Requests accommodated before finalizing schedule
- Orientation: 1 week dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Staffing Ratio Goal: 1:4 (can be 1:5)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (at least 1 year of current specialty experience within the last 3 years) — PCU, MedSurg Oncology, Hematology or Telemetry preferred
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission) — Ohio nursing jobs candidates encouraged
- Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EPIC charting)
- Preferred: Oncology experience, NIHSS certification
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematology diagnoses as a PCU RN / Oncology RN
- Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy adjuncts (excluding chemotherapy itself), and electrolyte replacements following protocols. Chemotherapy certification is not required for this role.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias; act on urgent changes and utilize rapid response teams
- Manage central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, and port-a-caths
- Perform phlebotomy, initiate and maintain IVs, and safely administer medications per policy
- Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic medical records
- Follow infection prevention protocols and participate in patient falls prevention initiatives
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed and collaborate in interdisciplinary care planning
