Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (Massachusetts or compact RN license where applicable)
- Minimum 3 years of current oncology nursing experience required
- Oncology infusion experience required (chemotherapy and biologic agents)
- Current or recent (within 3 years) central line experience, including accessing skills
- IV skills proficiency; IV insertion experience preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical, ED, Infusion Center, or Critical Care preferred
- Ambulatory EPIC experience preferred (EPIC charting / electronic medical records)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
Core Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in an inpatient medical oncology unit
- Administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive infusion therapies safely and per protocol
- Manage, access, and maintain central lines; perform IV insertions as needed
- Perform patient assessments, monitor treatment response, and manage adverse reactions
- Document care thoroughly using EPIC electronic medical records
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management, and follow-up care
