- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,530 – $1,610
- Location: Charleston, SC (29425) — Charleston nursing jobs, South Carolina healthcare
- Unit: 8W Neuro / General Surgery (24-bed acute care unit)
- Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN), Travel Nurse, Night Shift
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- Holiday Rotation: Required
- Weekend Requirement: 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Float Requirement: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Orientation: 24 hours
Job Requirements — Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience; Neuro/Neuroscience experience preferred
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (pending license considered with proof of application)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Experience with EPIC or other computerized documentation systems
- Comfortable caring for adult patient populations and managing ratios of 1:4–1:5
- Ability to perform peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway support
- Willingness to float as needed and participate in holiday/weekend rotations
Responsibilities — Med/Surg RN Duties (Neuro Focus)
- Provide high-quality nursing care in a neuroscience-focused Med/Surg unit (neurosurgery, CVA/stroke, general surgical cases)
- Manage pre- and post-operative neurosurgery patients and medical-surgical adult patients
- Respond to rapid response and code teams when needed
- Perform peripheral IV care/management, administer oxygen, and assist with non-invasive airway management
- Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and hospital safety policies
- Document patient care accurately and timely in EPIC (or facility EMR)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV therapy, PT/OT, RT, pharmacy, case management, and physicians
