• Shift: Night (19:00 - 07:30) or Mid (15:00 - 03:30); 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED), 24 beds, average ~80 visits per day — Emergency Department RN role

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months recent Emergency Department (ED) experience as an ER RN or ED RN
• Active and permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand (required for Ohio travel nursing jobs)
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification (must be obtained prior to start)
• Epic electronic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Department — triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, trauma, stroke, and acute medical conditions
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, blood products, and procedural sedation
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Care for ventilated patients, manage BiPAP/CPAP, and assist with intubation and chest tube insertion when indicated
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies, manage violent behavior, and support patients under psychiatric hold
• Apply isolation precautions and PPE, maintain central and arterial lines, and perform phlebotomy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and case management to ensure optimal patient outcomes
