Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,900 - $2,000
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548 (Grand Rapids, Michigan; Michigan nursing jobs)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse, Travel RN, travel nursing jobs)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/20/2026 – End: 7/20/2026)
- Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (8 Hour Evenings)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience (psychiatric nursing, inpatient mental health)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Excellent customer service and enthusiasm for behavioral health programs
Responsibilities
- Assess patient care needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Provide and coordinate nursing care for individuals and groups in an inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric setting
- Educate patients and families on discharge and aftercare planning, supporting recovery-focused, person-centered care
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff; monitor and report potential risks to patient safety
- Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and behavioral health standards
- Promote a client-friendly environment and maintain professionalism in all interactions
- Function as a clinical leader—delegate and coordinate staff assignments and support direct care staff as needed
- Utilize and review patient care protocols and standards of practice for inpatient psychiatric nursing
- Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
- May train direct care staff and oversee medication and physical health activities
