- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (New Mexico nursing jobs / Carlsbad healthcare)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1910 - $2010
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: ICU (EXT-Other 911), 12 beds — critical care / med-surg float
- Patient Ratio: 1:2-3
- EMR: MedHost (experience preferred)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nursing Job
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / critical care RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must meet state requirements for New Mexico travelers)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ER and Med-Surg experience required; critical care and ventilator experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, titratable drips, medication mixing, and comprehensive patient hygiene preferred
- TNCC preferred
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers (agency must be registered with the State of New Mexico)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total care for ICU patients, including ventilator management, titratable drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and hygiene care
- Float to Emergency Department and Med-Surg as needed — assist with ED tasks and assume full patient assignments on Med-Surg when required
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in MedHost and uphold high standards of patient safety and infection control
- Participate in holiday and weekend coverage as required by the unit
