Job Details
- Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab RN
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 - $2,500 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (Carlsbad, New Mexico travel nurse opportunity)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with option to extend)
- Shift / Schedule: 8 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) • 40 hours/week
- Call Requirements: Minimum 15 days per contract
- Floating: Required, typically as sitters
- Holidays: Required
- EMR Systems: Xper, MedHost, PACS
- Patient Ratio: 1:1 (procedural/monitoring RN)
- Schedule Policy: Blocked schedules are NOT approved.
- RTO Policy: No holidays will be considered for Requested Time Off (RTO).
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or interventional cardiology setting
- Active RN license (appropriate compact/State of New Mexico credentials as required)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (current)
- Proven experience circulating and monitoring for LHC (left heart cath), RHC (right heart cath), TEEs, cardioversions, peripheral vascular procedures, and other cardiac interventions
- Strong skills in moderate sedation administration, medication preparation, and procedural monitoring
- Ability to float as needed and adapt to a fast-paced cath lab environment
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
Responsibilities / Clinical Duties
- Circulate cases and monitor patients during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Administer moderate sedation, prepare and dispense medications per facility protocols, and monitor hemodynamics
- Ensure sterile technique, clean and stock the cath lab, and maintain equipment readiness (PACS, monitors, cath lab supplies)
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
- Provide patient education, pre- and post-procedure care, and compassionate support to patients and families undergoing cardiac interventions
