Job Details
- Position: Travel ICU RN / Critical Care Registered Nurse (Float Pool)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 – $2,160 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Columbus, Ohio travel nursing opportunity
- Setting: Critical Care Float Pool – Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, Cardiology/Diagnostics
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Coverage: Weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) plus one additional shift during the week
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience; prior travel nursing experience required
- Current RN license: compact license accepted or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EPIC charting) preferred
- Clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, arterial line and central/PICC line care
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Float across units of equivalent or lower acuity in the Critical Care Float Pool (Neuro ICU, CVICU, Cardiac ICUs, Surgical and Medical ICUs)
- Provide critical care for adult patients with complex diagnoses including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart), multisystem organ failure, and acute stroke
- Perform and manage advanced procedures: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, chest tube insertion/removal, EVD/ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
- Administer emergency medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
- Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and high standards of critical care nursing practice
