- Position: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
- Setting: Adult Acute Medical-Surgical Unit (8D EH, 13 beds)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (07:00 – 19:30); holiday rotation
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:4–5
- Charting/EHR: EPIC electronic health record experience preferred
- Uniform: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
- Parking: Garage parking available; $20 registration fee for permit
Required Qualifications (Med/Surg RN)
- Active RN license: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact (active or pending with proof of application)
- Minimum 1 year recent Medical-Surgical RN experience (2–3 years preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
- Charge experience preferred; strong clinical judgment in acute care/medical-surgical nursing
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Influenza vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- First-time travel nurses welcome
Responsibilities (Travel RN – Med/Surg)
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses
- Manage patient assignments on a 13-bed unit with typical ratios of 1:4–5
- Perform and manage clinical tasks including IV starts, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, wound care and wound vac management, feeding tube care, and colostomy/ileostomy care
- Support ventilatory care: BiPAP/CPAP maintenance and monitoring
- Participate on rapid response and code teams as required
- Provide pre- and post-hemodialysis nursing care and collaborate with dialysis teams
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV team, PT/OT, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and hospital policies
- Complete orientation and required modules prior to assignment start
- Be prepared to assist with emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
