NICU RN Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Proven ability to care for very high-acuity neonatal patients, including complex ventilator and hemodynamic support
• Travel candidates only — no local candidates within 50 miles

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to neonates from 22 weeks gestation and greater in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Provide intensive care therapies including total body cooling, conventional and high-frequency oscillator ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, vasopressor/sedation continuous IV drips, and central line maintenance
• Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and respond to emergencies
• Monitor and assess patient status, document interventions, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and neonatal support staff)
• Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay, delivering compassionate family-centered care
