• Location: Dothan, AL (36301) — Southeast Alabama travel nursing job
• Setting: General Med/Surg Overflow / Telemetry Unit (2 East)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/13/2026 – End: 7/13/2026)
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00); scheduling flexible (3x12 or 4x12)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
• Scrub Colors: All Navy or Navy pants and White top

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel nurse experience preferred)
• Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license in good standing
• BLS (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Proficient with electronic charting systems
• Comfortable working high-acuity patients with ratios of 1:6 or 1:7
• Experience administering and titrating drips (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted for COVID; flu exemptions must be documented)
• Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from Dothan, AL (per travel nursing policy)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Manage patient assignments safely at 1:6 or 1:7 ratios in a busy Med/Surg overflow/telemetry unit
• Administer and monitor IV drips and cardiac medications (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)
• Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, and blood product administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy
• Document patient care accurately and timely using charting systems
• Participate in block booking and required weekend coverage
