Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Lubbock, TX 79410 — West Texas; Lubbock nursing jobs, Texas travel nurse opportunities
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
- Unit: Medical Surgical (Med-Surg RN / MS RN)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
- Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period)
- Float Requirement: May float between acute care/med-surg units and sister facilities
- Dress Code: Solid navy blue scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
- Parking: Free in employee/visitor lots
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted) — travel nurse eligible
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing)
- BLS certification from American Heart Association required
- Experience with electronic charting/EHR systems (experience with charting systems preferred)
- Ability to float between units and facilities as needed
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays (must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays)
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical (Med-Surg) setting
- Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:5
- Recognize and activate rapid response/code teams as needed
- Perform peripheral line care/management, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols consistently
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and case management
- Float between units and support acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery cases when assigned
- Participate in orientation and complete required modules pre-start and on an annual basis
