• Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30); Night Shift ICU RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: ICU (10 beds, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio) — Critical Care Nurse role
• Self-scheduling: Available
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Coverage: As scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty and sister facilities

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in adult critical care (ICU, step-down, or progressive care)
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
• CPI certification (The Calm Every Storm online version)
• Epic charting experience preferred — strong documentation skills required
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) preferred
• Community hospital ICU experience preferred
• Two satisfactory professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)
• Comfortable floating within hospital and sister facilities as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients as an ICU Registered Nurse (critical care nurse duties)
• Manage a wide range of diagnoses including DKA, COPD, sepsis, cardiac arrest, stroke, GI bleed, and multi-organ failure
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures: endotracheal intubation support, central line/arterial line insertion care, chest tube care, post-operative ICU care, and CRRT setup and monitoring
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, blood products, and emergency medications per protocol
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial blood gases (ABGs), and ventilator settings/ventilator weaning in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safe clinical practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, physicians, and rapid response teams
• Provide accurate documentation in Epic and participate in handoffs and unit-based communication
• Float to other units within scope as needed to support staffing and patient care
