• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1910 - $2050
• Location: Libertyville, IL (60048) – Chicago area; Illinois respiratory jobs
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet Designation, Primary Stroke Center
• Contract Duration: 9 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 7/11/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (Respiratory Therapist night shift)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in acute care settings (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or eligible)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; CRT accepted
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• EPIC charting experience required
• Clinical experience with tracheostomies, ventilator management, ECMO, proning, nitrous oxide procedures, and ABG draws
• Skilled in spontaneous breathing trials, ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention, and critical care protocols
• Ability to work 1:1 patient ratios and float within the PSA
• First-time travel respiratory therapists considered upon review

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and treatment to neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients across ICU, NICU, and acute care units
• Perform advanced respiratory procedures: tracheostomy care, ventilator setup and management, ECMO support, proning, and nitrous oxide administration
• Conduct spontaneous breathing trials and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws; monitor and report patient respiratory status
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, RT team, ECMO specialists) to optimize patient outcomes
• Implement infection prevention practices, including ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention strategies
• Participate in a one-day unit orientation and float to other hospitals within the PSA as needed
