Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1840 - $1940 (Travel Registered Nurse pay)
• Location: Cardiac Medical Unit, Tuscaloosa, AL — Experience the vibrant healthcare community in Tuscaloosa
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 12, 2026) — travel nurse contract
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:6 in a 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit (cardiac telemetry nursing)
• Parking: Available
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
• EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech preferred)

Travel RN Requirements – Med/Surg Telemetry

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Registered Nurse licensed in State of Alabama or compact RN license (No temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry (telemetry nurse experience required)
• At least 18 months of overall RN experience preferred
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed (flexible bedside nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to cardiac and medical patients, including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, arrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and post-surgical recovery
• Continuous telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation; recognize EKG changes and escalate per protocol
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and perform nursing assessments and documentation in Meditech
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and prioritize care across a 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory, case management, rehab) to support patient recovery and transitions of care
• Float to other units and hospitals as required and work scheduled weekends/holidays
