Job Details
- Title: Travel Respiratory Therapist / RRT (Night Shift)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,320 – $1,420
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), holidays as needed
- Hours per Week: 36
- Location: Main Hospital, Charleston, SC 29425 — South Carolina respiratory jobs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to sister facilities (ART) within the MUSC system
- Scrub Color: Caribbean blue
- Charting: Epic (Cerner experience preferred)
- Parking: Nights and weekends only, one-time $20 payment for parking pass
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in adult critical care (ICU/Stepdown)
- Travel respiratory therapist experience required — first-time travelers not accepted
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- NBRC certification required
- South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license required (active at start)
- BLS certification required
- Experience in high-acuity settings: Adult ICU, Stepdown, and Floorcare
- Epic and Cerner charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care and therapy services across Adult ICU, Stepdown, and Floorcare units as a travel RT
- Deliver high-acuity respiratory interventions and adapt to rapidly changing patient needs in a Level 1 Trauma center
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital environment to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform ventilator management, assist with ventilator changes and troubleshooting, and support weaning protocols as appropriate
- Conduct assessments including arterial blood gas interpretation, airway management, and aerosolized medication administration
- Float between service lines and sister facilities per hospital policy and assignment
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic and Cerner charting systems
- Participate in emergency response teams and be available for hurricane season protocols (June–November)
- Work every other weekend and required holidays per schedule
